I bet that either you don't have the modem installed or you don't have it in
network. Check (I am talking 98, maybe will be the same on your OS) control
panel network and see if you have all you need there. Check the System and
see if you have dialup networking set up.

Can anyone help me figure out why my computer wont detect my modem? I am
switching frm cable to using dialup and I know I have a modem here. I
installed Earthlink and have an account but it is not detecting my modem..
