All I know is win98, but maybe your OS will work the same.
Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, System, Device Manager and see if you
have Network Adapers, next see if Modems has a yellow? if so then there
isn't any drive to your modem, click it and click update driver. It will
check your modem to see what driver you need.
