I would suggest three things for your son.... 1. Visit the Norton site for a question like this. With the past difficulties he had with uninstalling Norton software, there may be very specific instructions to minimize the problems and insure a clean uninstall. Also, since his AV is part of a suite its uninstall will likely be very different and more complicated than typical generic uninstall instructions he would get from this group. 2. Upgrade to WinXP or plan on an upgrade to Vista next year. All previous versions of Windows are very long in the tooth and MS support will disappear and software will no longer be written to support it. This will be even more true as 64-bit software and CPUs become more common among consumers. 3. Join this group. First hand questions and answers are far better (and faster) than going through a third party... even when that third party is your Mom.
