Excel is part of Microsoft Office and no way does it cost over a thousand bucks. The whole Office suite is just a little over 300 bucks. And, I never even heard of Windows XL (?) Anyway...you should be able to buy Excel as a standalone program, but it costs almost as much as the whole Office Suite, so I would just buy the suite. http://www.microsoft.com/office/excel/howtobuy/default.asp Linda Publisher ~ ABC ~ All 'Bout Computers Owner ~ Linda's Computer Stop http://personal-computer-tutor.com FREE MS Office eBook Tutorial http://personal-computer-tutor.com/library.htm -----Original Message----- From: pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Michael Scott Sent: Wednesday, July 17, 2002 6:38 PM To: pctechtalk Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Excel or XL, HOW much? Hello Group, I rang the local Office Shop and enquried about a program called Excel. Obviously she misunderstood me because she gave me a price for Windows XL. I have no idea how much everyone else is paying for this ,but $1,079 ?? . Would that be correct? Any tiny thought I had of an eventual upgrade have been blown to bits. I have worked out that, if I save for the next 2 years I might be able to afford it, but by then there will probably been a couple of new releases anyhow. Ah well, good ol' 98 will have to do.
