Actually, the phone uses an RJ-11 jack, which is the smaller looking plug. From the wall, it goes into the modem. From the modem, using an RJ-45 jack (fatter), you then connect the modem to the computer or router. ---Troth ----- Original Message ----- From: Lacey To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, July 22, 2003 10:31 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: Connecting two computers to one dsl connection I heard somewhere that with ADSL (which uses a phone jack type connector) you can just plug in another computer wherever you have a phone jack. I'm not sure of this but it would be worth checking out with your DSL company. ~Lacey~ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick" <union865@xxxxxxxxx> To: <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, July 22, 2003 4:39 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: Connecting two computers to one dsl connection > I can tell you that I have a laptop and a desktop connected using the > same cable modem.
