-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Connecting two computers to one dsl connection

Wired is the way I'm going, cheaper NIC cards (what 20$ or so ?) and you
guys know more than me. Running the wire is really no big deal if I get
better speeds in the long run. Thanks for the ticket back if I have a flat,
to be honest I've never did anything with networking before but feel I might
just be able to do this :-) . I never though I could format but a few years
ago G-man/Master Netlord/ and You my friend led me through it, same with
installing my new hard drive........For all those who helped today and
yesterday I am very greatful.........

Neil

> Wireless is good, wired is better. Why? Well, you get less interference or
chance of interference with wired. Of course, the majority probably has
absolutely no problem with wireless, and you probably won't neither.
> But, if wireless is what you want, then go for it. Just keep in mind you
also need to have a wireless NIC (Network Interface Card) for each system
connecting. The wireless NICs are much more expensive than the standard
ethernet card. However, I think someone mentioned its cheaper for a laptop
wireless NIC.

removed it the same day, but with Windows XP it is so easy. You just attach,
and after a few clicks in the wizard you're connected. The router and/or
wireless NIC should come with a QUICK START insert that will walk you right
through it. Believe me, following the card is VERY easy. If you're still
baffled, just ask here. It believe it explains it for all the major OS's
(including ME).
