I have been given an old computer that I wanted to give to a friend, a
crippled man who is confined to a wheelchair. He has never had or used a
computer. The people who gave it to me told me it was slow as molasses b=
ut
they did use it for the internet, which is what I wanted it for this use =
for
my friend. Well, I got it and it's worse than I feared. it's a 486DX with
only 16 MB RAM. They have wiped the hard drive and Windows will have to b=
e
loaded. I have my old Win 98 disk. Is it fast enough to run it? If not I
could probaly get my hands on a Win 95 disk. Is it even worth fooling wit=
h
or should I go on looking for one a little newer and faster? I'm sure it
has the old type of memory that would be hard to find in order to upgrade=
=2E
These are honest people, but I swear I don't see how they used it for the
internet. What do you think?=0D
