Howdy ... it`s been a while since I have posted although I read the group`s
digest every day .
Anyway`s ... the other night I played a movie on my Plextor External DVD R/W
drive and thought I`d try out a new CD called P C Security & Privacy from P C
World ... it was free being as I am a subscriber to their magazine .

When I put it in the drawer and closed it the activity light went out ... so I
right clicked on My Computer to open the drive manualy . When I clicked on the
DVD drive I was given an I/O error report that said the drive did not exist (
blah ) . None of my three drive`s would play the CD ... same error report on
all three .

I searched Google and found a tip page on I/O error`s and it worked like a
charm .

Here is the addy:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891894

Now all of my CD and DVD drive`s are working again .

Just thought you all would like to know about this .

Teri Lee
