Hi all, I am writing this from the web. My Outlook Express will not send or receive mail. I get an error that says: Your SMTP Server Has Not responded in 60 Seconds. "Would you like to wait another 60 seconds for the server to respond?" It then lists the account and the Server (of course, this is for my outgoing mail) It then goes on to check for new mail on this account - the error message I get is: Your POP3 server has not responded in 60 seconds. Would you like to wait another 60 seconds for the server to respond? It then lists the account name and then Server: and it then lists the correct pop server. Virus and AdAware scans come back clean (AdAware first time had some data miners and these were deleted and it was re-run and came back clean) There have been no changes to these settings. This happens to all my email accounts. I have tried system restore and it does nothing. I have used Go Back and it does nothing. My other half is on the same cable connection and he can get my mail downloaded onto his machine and the settings are the same. I had this same problem with a Sony loaner machine I had, it never would download my mail, but when I got my machine back from the shop it worked fine and that was about 2 months ago. My mahcine is a Sony 720 G - 3.2 Ghz machine with 3 GB ram. It is running Windows Media Center OS which is built on Winows XP Pro. (I have the disk from Sony to Upgrade to Windows Media Center 2005 after doing some other program updates from them, but will not do that until my OE is working correctly. Another question - Do you think it is feasible to try another Email program and see if it has a problem too? If so, is there one you think is good that will allow attachments and HTML mail and viewing them like I do in OE? I would like a program I could try before I buy. I am willing to buy the program if you think it is good. Any help would be appreciated. Being bald is not good..and for women it is even worse.. it is too hot in Las Vegas to wear a wig!
