This is some info about this new virus.
Billy, I don't know why, but the antivirus programs aren't catching this at
my end either. But if you read this <below> you will know which ones to
delete.
Re-Na Hanson / Arkansas USA
Novarg / MyDoom Virus Alert
The virus goes by two names - Novarg and MyDoom.
This arrives in your e-mail with a subject line of:
test
hi
hello
Mail Delivery System
Mail Transaction Failed
Server Report
Status
Error
The message will read:
Mail transaction failed. Partial message is available.
or
The message contains Unicode characters and has been sent as a binary
attachment.
or
The message cannot be represented in 7-bit ASCII encoding and has been sent
as a binary attachment.
The attachment will have 2 file extensions. The first will be a "safe"
looking .htm, .txt, or .doc.
However, the first file extension is just a decoy. The last one is what you
need to look out for and it will be:
.pif
.scr
.exe
.cmd
.bat
.zip
WARNING - if your system is not set to show file extensions, you will only
see the decoy extensions - not the real ones! For info on how to see all
file extensions, head to:

Once your computer is infected, this virus will send itself to all the
e-mail addresses it can find on your machine. In addition, it will open a
"backdoor" on your computer that allows a hacker to browse your files,
network resources, and / or install malicious software. This bugger will
also use your computer for Denial of Service Attacks between Feb 1 - 12,
2004.
