Another way to do it is to move your mouse pointer so that it is on
the web pages' icon at the beginning of the address bar (not on a
tab). The mouse pointer should change to a hand shape, and a tooltip
will appear which says "Drag and drop this icon to create a link to
this page". All you have to do is drag the icon over to the house icon
that you click on to go to the start page. This is much easier and
more intuitive -- if you can remember it (that sure does sound
contradictory, doesn't it?). :)

I think this is supposed to work with IE also, but it's not working in
IE 7 beta, even though you can drag the icon and the screen flickers
when you drop it. I'm pretty sure it was working in IE 6.
