Content-Type: text/plain; charset="Windows-1252" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable BlankThis is an email that I sent to tech services at Time = Warner/RoadRunner regarding poor monitor reception with a TV card into = my Winfast 2000XP deluxe card. *************************************************************************= ******************** Other TV cables within home have a TW booster. RR line to computer is = not on the booster circuit, but I have a TV, VCR and a TV card [within = the computer] on the same line that RR enters the computer area. Due to bad reception on the lower channels, including #5, you man came = out and replaced a couple of splitters, replaced some short cable runs = of RG59 with RG 6. He did all he could. He recommended a seprate RR = cable run from the TV run to the computer area. I would assume this line = would have a signal booster also. [???Even if it's going into the TV = card on the computer??] To test this, I am thinking of taking an unused cable connection that is = on the other household TV circuit with the booster to the TV card to see = if this improves the reception on the monitor on the computer with the = TV card.f Will this cause a problem as I would like to determine if a separate = line to the TV, VCR and TV card in the computer area is the answer = before going to rewiring expense? -- No attachments (even text) are allowed -- -- Type: image/gif -- File: Blank Bkgrd.gif Regards, John Durham (list moderator) <http://modecideas.com/contact.html?sig> Freelists login at //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi List archives at //www.freelists.org/archives/pchelpers PC-HELPERS list subscribe/unsub at http://modecideas.com/discuss.htm?sig Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
