I've sent this to Timothy Congdon my UKIP MEP.Those who know UKIP personalities migh choose to write something similar . http://www.thepetitionsite.com/303/073/806/nhs-schools-control-of-our-laws-immigration-does-our-constitution-have-the-answer/ Dear Tim. I am puzzled why no one in your party will discuss our constitution. I could understand a year back when Nigel explained that he was classed as a crank by some and if he used the word treason then more would class him cranky. However things have moved on. The Midlothian question has become an issue after the Scottish referendum so that Cameron is talking about amending our constitution. Also there is a parliamentary working party supposedly looking into it. The media discuss the Midlothian question but do not discuss the whole constitution. I started the above petition to try and get the subject into public debate. Care2 have promised to circulate all previous signers of their petioins of any petition that reaches the 300 mark. They are an international group which is important because the Australians and Canadians are having problems with their governments who ignore their constitutions. My petion does not use the word treason or sovereignty . It justs suggests that the main worries of our population, viz NHS, Schools, control of our laws, immigration etc. could be corrected if our constitution and the rule of law were followed. Why UKIP puzzles me, is that they have a reason to get our constitution discussed because it would show that all EU treaties are illegal. I'm not suggesting that they push the treason issue but why they cannot raise the subject of Cameron wishing to rewrite the constitution so that the present illegal treaties will be legalised baffles me.For whatever reason UKIP continues to be silent on the issue it would help if individual UKIP members were informed of the petition. It would be a start and would inform future UKIP MPs who do not know the true position. Caroline Stephens wrote to me, "I thought that our constitution had been done away with." Were the petition to gather great momentum it would itself become an item of news so that the media could not be stopped from discussing it. They would after all be just discussing what is the law of the land. You must already know that even the Eurosceptic commentators in the media cannot mention the word treason. Please read the comments of those who have already signed to see how strong the feelings are. Then please get your 'head office' to discuss this and at the very least give your members the link to my petition. sicerely John Timbrell at Drybrook.
