Have we confirmed that this is $300 per night and not $300 for the weekend
(basically $100 a night)?

Arcosanti wants a star party and before we can confirm we
are doing it, i need to know who is interested in doing it, and what days
you can do it.
Let me give you all the plans that i know of so far, and we will see what
we can do with what we have in the way of scopes.
At the moment, we are opening this up to just Star Tour members as we
insist on being paid to do this event.
However, after i get an idea of how many scopes want to be paid to do this
event, I will then put it out to the rest of the membership to see if
anyone wants to do it for free.
The Free version, because i think you are going to want to know this as
well, is:
For a place to spend the night, and food for the entire day you are doing
the star party that night.
Those of us wanting to be paid - star tour members only - we would get the
same as the freebees, but we are also asking for $300/night. Originally it
was for 2 hours, but i notice that the time frame of the event goes more
than 2 hours and if they are feeding and housing us for the night, I want
to be fair. So, $300/night, plus sleep over accommodations in their tent
looking things and food for the entire day you are there prior to that
night's event.
The dates of this event are May 12 13 and 14 of 2017.
The person in charge wants 2 - 4 scopes up on the roof from dark which is
8:30 to 12 midnight, each night.
and then 8 - 10 scopes from midnight to 2am, down in the field/ dark area
of the event.
So, you would be signing up for 2 different areas to to set up in and do
your part of the event.

May 12
Sunet 7:20
Dark 8:30
Jupiter visible 7:30
Orion visible 8pm and sets 8:10
Mars visible 8pm and sets 9pm
Moon rise is 9:10pm
Saturn rise is 9:20
I did this list out to 3am in case the second group is asked to stay an
additional hour for observing.
May 13
Sunet 7:20
Dark 8:30
Jupiter visible 7:25
Orion visible 750pm and sets 8:10
Mars visible 745pm and sets 9pm
Moon rise is 755pm and is 89% lit
Saturn rise is 755pm
May 14
Sunset 7:20
Dark 8:30
Jupiter visible 7:30
Orion visible 8pm and sets 8:15
Mars visible 745pm and sets 850pm
Moon rise is 1045pm and is 83% lit
Saturn rise is 945pm
This night has a lot of visible satellites between 7pm and 9pm
and one bright one, that is NOT ISS,
traveling over head from NW to SE
at 20:47:14 to 20:52:16. It only comes up from NW
and travels to just after the Zenith before it vanishes.
So, now, i need RSVP's from those of you wanting to do the events. Here's

You can offer to do both events if you wish to move your scope to the other
location part way through the night. Your choice. You are already there.
Maybe he will keep some of you up on the building if he finds enough of you
will stay till 2 or 3am, set up. I will mention this to him.

We are going to set an Early RSVP deadline of *Jan 1, 2017* just to get an
idea of how many scopes are interested in doing this event, on what days,
and what times. So, sign up now so i can look at the list and send it to
our contact at Arcosanti. Thanks.
As we get closer to the event, you can change your RSVP up to a month prior
to the event, so RSVP now if you think you want to do any of these
times/days and change it up to Apr 10th as the final deadline to get your
RSVP in to me on time, or change the one you already signed up to do.
