Here’s what I found out about Mars:
The “official” time of opposition is on Sun, May 22, 2016 at 04:10 MST,
one hour before it sets.
On Saturday, May 21, a 15.4 day-old moon rises at almost the same time as Mars
does, at 7:23pm. At this time the moon is nearly full, so I doubt that this is
a good time to view Mars.

I appreciate any help in getting details about sunset, other objects in the
night sky not near the Full Moon, etc. Moon rise and set time, and anything
else you can send my way.
I'd also be interested in knowing how many may attend. So, if you're
interested in attending, just send back a quick reply. This would not be your
RSVP. You'd do that in the calendar once the event is on line.
