Mark, thank you for the info. I know you are a recent PAS member and were not
able to attend the Sept 2015 PAS meeting where Alex and I gave a detailed
analysis of the Aug 21st 2017 total solar eclipse. If you look at the Sept
2015 PAS newsletter which is accessed through our website, you can read a
summary of our presentation. Alex and I will give a final presentation next
Sept. The information you found about the hotel is very helpful. Thank you for

Hi Terri,
FYI, as you probably know there's an awesome total solar eclipse going to run
coast to coast on Monday Aug 21 2017. My research indicates an optimal
location is Casper WY, because
a) it's on the centerlineb) it has historically clear weatherc) if the weather
is iffy, it's one of the few place with east/west highways allowing you to try
to race to a clear spot.
I've been checking hotels and there's only one that will accept reservations
more than a year out.
I've reserved a room for the 2 nights before totality at

Did it online and confirmed with the hotel, looks like a good spot. I plan to
drive up and observe the eclipse with my Hydrogen alpha solar telescope.
