Hi Terri,
FYI, as you probably know there's an awesome total solar eclipse going to
run coast to coast on Monday Aug 21 2017. My research indicates an optimal
location is Casper WY, because
a) it's on the centerline
b) it has historically clear weather
c) if the weather is iffy, it's one of the few place with east/west
highways allowing you to try to race to a clear spot.
I've been checking hotels and there's only one that will accept
reservations more than a year out.
I've reserved a room for the 2 nights before totality at

Did it online and confirmed with the hotel, looks like a good spot. I plan
to drive up and observe the eclipse with my Hydrogen alpha solar telescope.
It's expected that good locations on the center line will sell out
quickly. PAS members might be interested.
