messages I write.
please let me know if you see this message. (Terri - you should receive it
twice - directly to your email, and then via List serve.)

PAS Members,
I haven't figured out how members are being dropped from the List serv, but
some of you have been. So, double check your status.
It appears that some members are not on the PASMembers List serv and should
be. Go sign up. I can't do it for you, by this law.
Roger is not on the list currently. Christine is on the list.
If you aren't sure, go sign up. It will tell you that you are already on the
list, if you are on it. And if you are not on it, please be sure you are, by
signing up.
Here's the instructions on how to sign up. You can leave the list anytime you
want using the same method.
Subscribe users While FreeLists used to provide list admins with a means of
subscribing users manually, due to the CASL effective July 1, 2014, we can no
longer safely offer this feature. Subscribers must now take a more active role
in the subscription process. Please direct them to your List Page here:
//www.freelists.org/list/pasmembers ;
Also, if you aren't on the PASAnnounce list, here's the link:
//www.freelists.org/list/pasannounce I'm sending this email out to:
PASMembers PASAnnounce and my Gmail contacts listed as PAS Members.
Did you get the info about the Upcoming August Events i just sent out? If
not, you aren't on the PASMembers or PASAnnounce lists.
Have a super day! Terri, Event Manager

The last week in September is the Annual Flagstaff Festival of Science. We have
had several PAS members attend over the years. It is about 10 days long with
about 9 free seminars, tours, exhibits, field trips, etc.. each day. Some of
the subjects are astronomy, while other branches of Science are also explored.
There will be a giant star party at Buffalo Park just north of Flagstaff,
Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night Sept 22-24, 2016. Last year on
Sat night there were about 36 telescopes and about 1300 customers. Howard,
Frank and I brought our scopes and it was a great event.
This year they are again asking for telescopes. If you are interested, please
let me know and I will send detailed information to you. Last year we were
allowed to tour the new Discovery Channel Telescope because of our
participation at Buffalo Park. This year, if you volunteer for any of the 3
nights with your telescope, you and your family are invited to do night time
observing Sunday night, Sept 25th, through the Naval Observatory's 61 inch
telescope which is closed to the public.
As we get closer to September, the full schedule of events will be published
for the 10 day Festival. However, if you are interested in the Buffalo Park
star party, we need to send in our information asap to get a spot at the star
party and to get a spot at viewing at the Naval Observatory.
Let me know if you are interested. Sam Insana President of PAS
PS I am sending a special mailing to Roger and Christine since they told me
they have not been getting all the pas list serve emails.

Good friends are like stars. You don't always
see them, but you always know they are there.
