Hi All,
Thanks so much for your prayers on my behalf. I saw a new to me doctor at
Highland Tuesday August 9th as my primary care doctor had left. She was given
ample time to really get to know her patients and to work with them on current
medical conditions, so I was very fortunate to be able to get an appointment
with her as soon as I did. On Sunday the 7th, my body imploded. I was
experiencing dizziness, balance and coordination issues, and directional issues,
even walking in my own house! Thankfully, I live in an area where Paratransit
is available to blind people even if there are no other disabilities on record.
I am at this point temporarily totally bed bound except for times up from bed
only when absolutely necessary. Turns out I've been taking opeoids in order to
manage extreme pain caused by inflammation of my nerves in my arms and
shoulders, and that was the wrong way for me to be treated for my condition.
The new doctor, whom I like very well, informed me that she was putting me on a
drug called Neurontin, 900 milligrams per day, and she would see me on September
13th to re-evaluate my situation. I'm sleeping well for the first time in at
least a year and a half. My body has, of course, been tryingto tell me in its
symbolic way, that it's had it with the lack of sleep and with being forced to
do more than I should be expecting it to be doing. Again, thanks for all your
prayers. Now you know why I haven't been posting much.
