Angelo Pangalos: Bringing joy to strangers.
Angelo has a wonderful project, to make strangers smile and feel joy,
with the hope they too will bring smiles and joy to others.
He calls it "Forward the Smile." What is it and what compels him to do
it?
Angelo, now 30, has had serious health issues and has been in and out
of hospitals since he was just 5 years old.
Because of this, he found the way to lift his own spirits and those of
others was to smile warmly and to entertain them with magic and music.
He calls it "Forward the Smile."
As you'll see, he entertains people with upbeat songs on his guitar
and/or by performing magic.
Before starting "Forward the Smile," Angelo also suffered from a lack
of self-confidence.
He would think, "You're not confident, you're not that great a magician
or musician, you're not that talented, gifted all that fear gave me
that doubt of even doing what I wanted to do."
But then he finally mustered the courage to try it, and it turned out
his fears were greatly out of proportion with reality.
Reality was that people didn't care if he wasn't the best musician or
magician, they just wanted someone to be warm and friendly and take an
interest in them.
Angelo found his purpose in life which as he put it is to, "Go out on
the streets and embrace every single person."
"I always love people," he said, and now many of the people he
encounters feel love for him and feel better about themselves.
