1.  $ strings spfilexxxx > initsid.ora
2.  vi initsid.ora # make your changes
3.  sqlplus /nolog
        a.  SQL> connect / as sysdba
        b.  SQL> create spfile=3D'spfilexxxx' from pfile=3D'initsid.ora';
        c.  SQL> startup

okay.. I'm a dumb @$$

I need to restart a down database that is on linux with an spfile
parameter that sets db_32k_cache_size...

how do I get rid of/reset that parameter and bring up the database?
