It is a 'server' in a classroom environment that I was wanting to setup
OEM repository and OMS on so students could access their DB's in the
classroom from home. Not a requirement just a 'nicety'. =20
So I just Stephen you could call it a sandbox......
I know that only SLES from SUSE and AS or ES from RedHat are
'supported'.....

Yeah, so long as you're happy running unsupported.
I wasn't sure from Les' mail if this was a test, sandpit or production
database so made the point that it's do able but not reccomended. =20
For a test or sandpit database where you just want to play about with
it, unsupported in fine. On the other hand, compared with the cost of
Oracle licenses the cost of SuSE ES or the RedHat equivalent, whatever
they are calling their enterprise product now, is peanuts.
Just because something is possible doesn't mean it's a good idea.
