Rudy,

Is this 10g? If so, it might be part of the Oracle Notification System
(ONS).  My
listener was running hot due to a port conflit with 10g Grid Control.
I fixed it
by editing the listenter.ora file and adding the following line:

SUBSCRIBE_FOR_NODE_DOWN_EVENT_LISTNR10=3DOFF=20

Subject: listener.log: "Subscription node down event still pending"

My listener locked up early this week,=3D20
so I decided to poke into the listener.log
to see if there was anything suspicious
(didn't find anything.) But I do see a
lot of "WARNING: Subscription for node
down event still pending." No TNS-nnnnn
nor ORA-nnnnn error number associated
with it.

What is that warning about, and how do
I make it not be pending?

TIA
