Look at the NFS network path- what speed and connections are you running ?  Was 
it the same NFS on AIX ?
For comparision- 1gb ethernet for NFS will be significantly slower than 4gb 
Fiber Channel.
10gb Ethernet for NFS will be somewhat faster than 4gb Fiber channel, while 8gb 
FC and 10gb enet NFS are similar.
Also, do you have jumbo frames set up for the NFS link ?

You could try running Orion on both systems to get a direct comparision.

Filesysem is NFS on netapps, direct NFS enabled.

It appears it is - but may not be very efficient at this point.  What version 
of Oracle and Linux are you using?  What type of filesystem/disk/etc. (Not just 
NetApps - ASM, OCFS, etc.)?
