Look at the NFS network path- what speed and connections are you running ? Was it the same NFS on AIX ? For comparision- 1gb ethernet for NFS will be significantly slower than 4gb Fiber Channel. 10gb Ethernet for NFS will be somewhat faster than 4gb Fiber channel, while 8gb FC and 10gb enet NFS are similar. Also, do you have jumbo frames set up for the NFS link ? You could try running Orion on both systems to get a direct comparision. -----Original Message----- From: oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Hsieh, Joan Sent: Friday, March 22, 2013 2:26 PM To: David Barbour Cc: oracle_l Subject: RE: linux Async io Hi David, Thanks, our oracle is 11.2.0.3 both on AIX and Linux are the same . What version of Oracle and Linux are you using? What type of filesystem/disk/etc. (Not just NetApps - ASM, OCFS, etc.)?
