complaint about cpu2005july - why doesn't loadjava supply a return code?

So I'm deploying the CPU2005july patchset (10.1.0.4 patch 3) on an
internal system running w2k3 server. Everything goes well with opatch
and I get to the section where java classes need to be loaded.

I execute the loadjava routine ... and nothing is returned.
Am I spoiled to think that a return code of "0" is too much to ask for?
I'd also settle for "Statement processed." or "yep - got it" or even "ok".

crossing my fingers thinking wishfully ...
