For any point release this is *likely* to work in a given test, but there is
a PROBLEM.

The problem is that unless Oracle declared that a given point release had no
changes to existing output possibilities to redo logs in support of any
fixed or new features, you would be faced with the possibility of records in
the new redo logs that would not be understood correctly in the older
release. So even if you tested a substantial set you would have no
reasonable expectation of reliability.

It should work but the Oracle Document says the release has to be the same.
