Rman fails to backup files after IP change

G'day.

This has me stumped for the last 2 days or so. We had to change the IP address of one of our database servers (167.x.x.x to 10.x.x.x address). All went well, after I remembered to change /etc/inet/ipnodes as well (d'oh!), except that RMAN no longer can communicate with the Netbackup sbt.

The error logged is:

channel ch00: starting piece 1 at 2009-07-03 16:26:07

Oracle doco says that this is Netbackup throwing an error, but running the Netbackup bhpdb process with log level 5 does not give any more info than "script exited with error", meaning the RMAN script. The disk backup from this same machine, via the same disk-then-tape method as the RMAN backup, still completes perfectly well.

Any clues welcome..

The versions are:

Oracle: 10.2.0.3.0
Solaris: 10 11/06 s10s_u3wos_10 SPARC
NetBackup: 5.1 MP6

Cheers,
Tony
