Restore from cold to new server

I have received an OS backup from another server. I don't have an init and the only controlfile I have is a controlfile from trace from a clone (with a different SID name) of the original database. Is there a way to get the original database going on this new server without the init and controlfile from the original (especially since I don't have the ORACLE_SID info and system password for the original)?
