Hi,

Oracle 10.2.0.3
AIX 6
EMC Networker 4.5

We are trying to back up one of our databases to tape and we keep
getting this error

channel c2: starting piece 1 at 27-FEB-09
RMAN-03009: failure of backup command on c2 channel at 02/27/2009
13:34:50
ORA-27192: skgfcls: sbtclose2 returned error - failed to close file
ORA-19511: Error received from media manager layer, error text:
The NMO error message has been lost. Please set NSR_DEBUG_FILE and run
NMO
continuing other job steps, job failed will not be re-run
released channel: c1
released channel: c2
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-03009: failure of backup command on c1 channel at 02/27/2009
13:36:35
ORA-27192: skgfcls: sbtclose2 returned error - failed to close file
ORA-19511: Error received from media manager layer, error text:
The NMO error message has been lost. Please set NSR_DEBUG_FILE and run
NMO

We cannot set the NSR_DEBUG_FILE option as we are using send, not parms
to build our command. ?

Anyone seen this before. On a backup to disk we had no problems, so the
DB looks like it is fine. We have also been able to backup smaller
databases to tape using the same scripts successfully.

This is doing my head in ??

Any thoughts/ideas (and preferably) a solution would be great.

TIA
Lee
