We have DR from one data center to the next for NON-RAC system.

All oracle binaries are local.

There is NFS mount that is replicated from primary to DR which is very handy
when downloading software and patches, and storing SQL and shell scripts.

Database is using Physical Standby using Real Time Apply, no DG broker because
of constraints.

Subject: Oracle Software install for DR

We're in the process of setting up a DR facility and wanted to solicit opinions
on the Oracle software install for both RAC and non-RAC systems, in terms of
whether or not they should be on the SAN or local installs. We are going to
utilize SAN replication for our DR, and the initial thought was to place the
Oracle binaries (e.g. $ORACLE_HOME) on SAN mount points so that they are
replicated.

If anyone has experience in this area or has links to documentation in this, it
would be appreciated.

Thanks Jeff
