Oracle Export Error ( 9.2.0.6 on Solaris 2.9)

Export is failing with the following errors after it finishes exporting all
tables and before it starts exporting synonyms
running export with ROWS=N

. exporting synonyms
EXP-00008: ORACLE error 3113 encountered
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
EXP-00000: Export terminated unsuccessfully

Oracle 9.2.0.6 on Solaris 2.9
any pointers is greatly appreciated
