Oracle DBA Needed (with an SAP environment background)
Sr. Level Database Administrator to support SAP / Oracle systems
Location: Chicago IL (North Suburbs)

Desciption:
The Database Administrator position is responsible for providing
administration services for all Database systems.
Systems include Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and SAPDB.
Administration tasks include installation, configuration, license
management, access management, upgrading / patching, troubleshooting
and tuning for the specific Database components in an SAP environment.
The Database Administrator is accountable for maintaining an
environment that is well documented, sustainable, and conforms to all
established technology development and implementation processes,
enabling the business to service our customers as effectively and
efficiently as possible.
Required Skills:
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent related experience.
-Minimum of 5 years Unix / Linux and / or Windows Application support
including Oracle and / or SQL Server Administration or relevant experience.
-Familiarity with computing infrastructures, including Data Security,
Help Desk, Operations, Network Computing, Data Base and Application
Development.
-Knowledge of Unix (Solaris and Linux) and Windows Operating System
fundamentals, system design, administration, and scripting languages.
-3 years experience as a Oracle DBA.
-2 yrs experience in an environment with SAP
-Demonstrated skills with SAP database related transactions
-Strong SQL tuning skills
-Ability to effectively communicate technical issues to software
suppliers and to the business representatives.
-An understanding of production environments including the
requirement for high availability and team oriented 24x7 support
-Understanding of Unix/Linux and Windows-based scripting and
programming languages for support tasks and problem solving
-Experience with capacity planning in the analysis of trends in
database utilization to predict future growth.
-Experience working cross functionally to maintain application
uptime/availability and providing successful implementations for a
large environment.
-Experience with 24x7 support in a large environment, to provide
uninterrupted business functionality
-Experience with ongoing performance tuning in a large enterprise environment
