The code already uses bind variables--they did make that change after we
hired a consultant who told them the same thing I told them about using
binds. I've taken this all the way up to the VP of Development without any
success in getting it changed. My boss, VP of Operations, didn't have any
better luck than I did. Looks like a profile is my only option at this
point.
