Since a couple of other people have emailed me, I figured it made sense to send 
this question to the list.  

Were CPU patches being part of extended support handled differently with 9i?  I 
always had access to all of the 9i CPU patches, and still do.

As of July 2011, the first year of free extended support for 10.2.0.5 is over.  
So access to CPU and new bug fixes requires adding extended support to your 
contract for a premium above your current support cost. 

The support document that explains premier vs extended vs sustaining and the 
associated timelines is on otn.
