SS2005 is a big transition, pretty much requiring a rewrite for some apps here, so consider it for new apps....
Though if one is moving an Oracle app to MSSQL in theory it is likely to move more easily to SQL2005 (since you can do the read-consistency thing), and in practice if upgrades do need rewrites you won't be doing a second minor rewrite a couple of years down the line.
