See MetaLink doc id 203849.1.

A small excerpt from that document is this table:
Q1: Which JDK version goes with which driver version?
A1: JDK and JDBC Certification Matrix

JDK Driver File Name JDBC Version
--- ---------------- ------------

1.1 classes111.zip 7.3.4 -
1.2 classes12.zip 8.1.6 -
1.3 classes12.zip 9.2 -
1.4 ojdbc14.zip 9.2 -
1.5 ojdbc14.zip 10.2 (not 10.1)

Hope that helps,

-Mark

11:21:19 SQL> select dbms_registry.version('JAVAVM') from dual;

DBMS_REGISTRY.VERSION('JAVAVM')
------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------
9.2.0.7.0

1 row selected.

That isn't the JVM version. It might be Oracle's designation for it,
but this does not show what revision of Java is in use.

What the OP is lookgin for is something like this, as in the original
post.

11:20-ordevdb01:dv10:jkstill-11 > java -version
java version "1.5.0_06"

ie. What version of the Java SDK is the OJVM based on?

How do I find out the JVM version of 9.2.0.6 database? I'm
talking about the JVM running in the database, not what is on the
server. On the server, I've found this:

        $ORACLE_HOME/JRE/bin/jre -version

        java version "1.4.2.07"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build
1.4.2.07-050121-15:53)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 1.4.2
1.4.2.07-050121-17:30-PA_RISC2.0 PA2.0 (aCC_AP), mixed mode)
