What OS? What hardware? What NAS? How were you mounting the NAS
volume? What was the network between them like? How busy was the
network?
I've installed Oracle 9i2 under Solaris 9 from an NFS volume mounted
from another Solaris 9 server over a moderately busy 100MBit network
and haven't noticed any significant speed difference compared with
installing off CD.
