Good information.  It's things like this that often rob us DBAs from really
enjoying our job because we "know" we're going to run into issues such as
these (not if, but when).  When you're a high achiever (as most on this
list are), it's doubly frustrating because it becomes wasted time (in some
sense).  Yes we learn a lot, and that's worth a lot, but compared to
spending time with family, or doing leisurely things to get away from work,
this is, to me, time lost for very little good purpose.

We should start one of those "Why I don't like...." threads so we can get
some positive feedback on the things that make being a DBA worth it ;)
