Since Coll-Barth is also looking I will re-send my initial (private) email:

If you want face-to-face training then there's little doubt that the best
training provider is http://www.sqlskills.com/sql-server-training/
Look to their Immersion Event's:
"IE0: Immersion Event for the Junior/Accidental DBA" is the choice for new
comers to SQL Server

I haven't had their courses myself (I live in the UK) but I'm counting the days
until they return to the UK to do the IE1 course.

You can review each of their blogs on the site to see the kind of details they
go into. They also did the OCM equivalent readiness videos for Microsoft:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/ff977043.aspx -- these are free to
watch and give an example of the details they can go into

All of their members are also MVPs (equivalent of Oracle ACE/ACED).

Regards,
Mike

Hi Jeff, I used Global Knowledge for SQL Server training. I did an instructor
led virtual class and was happy with it. I usually prefer classroom, but since
I took an old class (SQL Server 2008) my only option was virtual. It was great
because I was able to review the entire class including labs for 6 months after.

I am looking for recommendations from those of you that also support MS Sql
Server as to good vendors for training classes. Please reply privately.
