A couple of things to check: * Is there a lot of PL/SQL being executed on the server (triggers and packaged procedures)? * Has anti-virus software been installed? If so does it exclude the = Oracle files? regards _________________________ David Kurtz Go-Faster Consultancy Ltd. tel: +44 (0)7771 760660 fax: +44 (0)7092 348865 web: www.go-faster.co.uk mailto:david.kurtz@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Book: PeopleSoft for the Oracle DBA: http://www.psftdba.com PeopleSoft DBA Forum: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/psftdba -----Original Message----- From: oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of fahd mirza Sent: 03 September 2004 09:00 To: Active DBA Subject: CPU Utilization 100% Listers, I am running Oracle 8.1.6 on windows 2k. The machine is Dell Poweredge 2500, and the no. of users are just under 100. The problem is = that CPU utilization on the server has reached to 100%. I have checked and = there are no blocking waits in the systems, there is no long operation. Please suggest me what can be the cause and what should I do? Is it due to any poorly written SQL, if it is , then how can I find it? Its in the = emergency, I am waiting. regards, Fahd. --- To unsubscribe - = mailto:oracle-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx&subject=3Dunsubscribe To read recent messages - //freelists.org/archives/oracle-l/09-2004 --- To unsubscribe - = mailto:oracle-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx&subject=3Dunsubscribe=20 To read recent messages - //freelists.org/archives/oracle-l/09-2004 --- To unsubscribe - mailto:oracle-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx&subject=unsubscribe To read recent messages - //freelists.org/archives/oracle-l/09-2004
