I assume you mean that ORACLE.EXE is consuming all the CPU. A couple of
things to check:
* Is there a lot of PL/SQL being executed on the server (triggers and
packaged procedures)?
* Has anti-virus software been installed? If so does it exclude the Oracle
files?

Listers,
I am running Oracle 8.1.6 on windows 2k. The machine is Dell
Poweredge 2500, and the no. of users are just under 100. The problem is that
CPU utilization on the server has reached to 100%. I have checked and there
are no blocking waits in the systems, there is no long operation. Please
suggest me what can be the cause and what should I do? Is it due to any
poorly written SQL, if it is , then how can I find it? Its in the emergency,
I am waiting.
