Yes reuse should be used in case of raw devices

A Basic issue - Addition of Redo logfile onto RAW Device is Failing with
the following error.

NOTE - Existing Database Redo Logfiles exist on Mounted Filesystem, like
the est of the Database files.

 

Qs Should REUSE be used in the Add logfile Command?

 

Oracle 10.2.0.3.0

HP-UX B.11.23

P.S. Error Details

 

SQL> alter database add logfile group 3 ('/dev/vg02/rawdb1') size 500M ;

alter database add logfile group 3 ('/dev/vg02/rawdb1') size 500M

ERROR at line 1:

ORA-00301: error in adding log file '/dev/vg02/rawdb1' - file cannot be
created

ORA-27038: created file already exists
