Hello colleagues,

Can any of you recommend a good hand held slit lamp? The two we have in our
two clinics are very old.

Hello all,
One of our retina docs is asking for an extremely cheap fundus camera
solution for animal research. He is suggesting under $5k cheap. He has
forwarded me an article from a Paul Yates, MD PHD who took a Panasonic FZ20
and with some engineering skills rigged a fundus camera for use in the ED.
Any other solutions that are practical and relatively easy?

Thanks!

I used an old Kowa handheld with very good results in dogs and rabbits. Some
models are also equipped for IVFA.
There are used equipment dealers who still have some available.
Problem is they use film and would have to be adapted for digital....
Good luck

Thanks, Peter. We actually have an old Kowa handheld, but it uses film and
am uncertain about converting it.

Wide Field angiography by Russell Burris on the cover. With Optos? Looks too
sharp to be Spectralis montage. Fundus camera montage? Inquiring minds would
like to know...

Rule of thumb (My thumb). White spots are on the front lens ( Patient lens),
dark spots out of focus are in the
middle focus lenses and or CCD chip, in focus dark spots are on the field lens.
