Darrin In our practice we usually don’t perform IVFA on breastfeeding mothers unless it’s absolutely necessary, but in cases that we have to, we usually ask the mother to wait for a maximum of 48 hours post injection, and to drink as much water as she can, before feeding her son/daughter again. Having said that, we have a severe PDR patient who is nursing, and really needs a fluorescein (per MD). Does anyone have a protocol for how long the infant should not be nursed after the angiogram? The plan is to have the patient pump and stock up, but for how many days? Any help is appreciated!!! Darrin Darrin Landry, CRA, OCT-C Consultant Bryson Taylor Inc.
