Based on work we did back in 1998, lactating women undergoing IVFA should be advised to refrain from nursing for at least 8-12 hours post-injection and possibly longer if the infant is premature. Having said that, we have a severe PDR patient who is nursing, and really needs a fluorescein (per MD). Does anyone have a protocol for how long the infant should not be nursed after the angiogram?
