No it launches it separately, can be on the same monitor or some docs have their lap top for Epic and use the 24 inch monitor in the exam rm for OIS Symphony. We have had mixed results with going to the specific patient, both Epic and OIS think it is the dash in our MRN (123xyz-0) but Symphony has a last 30 patient selection which works fine during clinic. How does it handle/interface with the various imaging review software programs? Tom So you're saying that all that Epic is doing is launching your Ophthal-specific review program from another window within the Epic window. No pt id# is handed off from Epic so you could search and review any pt's images even though you might have Pt# abc123 open in epic? Just curious. j- On Fri, Sep 2, 2011 at 3:50 PM, Thomas C. So you open the second program, on the down side you have 2 programs open and you have to be careful with pass though identification, no logon necessary for the imaging program, and the images are not in the Epic report. On the up side you have the full function of the image review program. We put access to OIS Symphony in all levels of the patients encounter.
