Jeroen

The BBC bit rates you are receiving FOC are the same on DVB-S (Astra 2) =
and DVB-T as a matter of policy. I think you might soon be receiving ITV =
FOC by the same route before long. And The Netherlands (Eindhoven) is in =
the primary beam of Astra 2D. I think it is well known that there are now=
many BBc and indeed ITV viewers (who have the FTV or Sky card ) in Europ=
e as there are a lot of people phoning in on live shows. It is very big b=
usiness in Southern Europe : with a 1.2M dish in Portugal (Algarve) all =
Sky Digital is perfect. There is a very big grey market: you just read th=
e expat newspapers for the ads..
Of course BBC are unencrypted and I would wager that their 16x9 broadcast=
s are being used to calibrate Philips widescreen TVs with off-air source.=
.

Kind Regards,

Dermot Nolan

I can get all of that here, hundreds of kilometers away, from =

the Astra2 satellite ! And in perfect quality too. For free ! =

If you think that the terrestrial signal is inferior (the same =

is said of the DVB-T signals in NL and Belgium), then I don't =

understand why you just don't get a satellite dish and get it =

over with. They compress more lightly, and you will be happier. =

I can send you a photo of my dish with 3 LNBs, and Triax don't =

even recommend this dish for 3. But it works anyway, haha. =

BTW, I will consider Digitenne (Dutch DVB-T) for a third or =

fourth TV, but my first and second will stay tuned on Astra ! =
