To All: I have been reading this thread with much interest and I have my own personal ideas on both the CIA agent outing and what is going on in Iraq. However my opinions are not relevant here; however here is an interesting link I found using the name Valerie Plame using my search engine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plame_scandal_timeline I found it very interesting reading. However I do have one question that no one seems to be asking, so here it is: If making public the name of an undercover agent is a felony, how come Robert Novak has not been charged, since he was the one who made publicly identified Valerie Plame as a CIA agent? Just a simple observation on what has happened. Ralph P. What is going on in Iraq was entirely predictable, and will continue at some level as long as it is possible for Syria and Iran to continue their support for the so called insurgency. Ultimately the people of Iraq will have to step up and handle the day to day security. And make it too uncomfortable for the insurgents to survive. There are many signs that this is already happening, with more and more citizens providing tips that are leading to the capture of insurgents. It is useful to look at the situation after WWII, if you want to talk about the use of terror tactics to destabilize a new government. There were many areas where the japanese kept fighting for years after Japan surrendered. The same thing happened in Germany, where it too about ten years to mop up the laggards. And while we are at it.. What'e the exit strategy for Japan, Germany, Korea, The Dominican Republic and Bosnia... to name a few.
