Final Cut Pro 6 added some AVCHD support with the Version 6.0.1 update. It's not native support but transcodes the AVCHD to either ProRes 422 or the Apple Intermediate Codec (you set this as a preference). Just like P2 and XDCAM, you use the Log and Transfer Window. A major limitation is that you cannot set In and Out points for a clip; you must transcode the entire clip.
