Hi OLA/OWL listserv, This has been my favorite speaking rubric for my classes that have a range of levels (Novice High to Intermediate Mid students on the ACTFL scale). It focuses on length of comprehensible discourse. I set the kids up with "hooks" and have them converse in small groups. I move around and make an X on the continuum for every comprehensible phrase/sentence/string of sentence/paragraph that I hear. I may make a note for exemplary circumlocution or vocab use in the box. The language is adapted from the ACTFL Performance standards. I took the liberty to say Novice High is Intermediate Low, but "beginning to" perform the skills. Hope these help! -Amanda Amanda Miller Division 1.3 Spanish Teacher The Francis W. I need help formatting documents in Microsoft Word. Anything would help a lot! Thanks! Ricardo
